Welcome to Curio: A Newsletter on Substack. After ten years of blogging at Edwardian Promenade, I pondered what could I do next? I haven't reached a finite number of things to write, but the scope of my interests have grown wider and wider than EP's primary focus (you'll notice that I kept pressing the timeline beyond 1900-1914, only to draw back). I also started a PhD program, which further pulled me beyond my initial scope. Let's not forget my dabbling in history-based activities like cooking and gardening and travel.

And so, I settled on this newsletter.

It's short, it's sweet, and it's easy to write on the fly. Think of Curio as a bonbon version of Edwardian Promenade: delicious, but multilayered flavors that only hit you once the candy has lingered in your mouth for a while.

I've “grandfathered" all of my longtime subscribers and supporters into this newsletter, but a paid subscription is always welcome!
